The Site is operated from the United States and our service providers are primarily located in the United States. You can use these features with or without an account:
- Browser notifications: If you turn on browser notifications for a fragrance, your browser gives us a web address and keys for sending them. We save these with the fragrances you chose. If you are signed in, we also link them to your account.
- Pro waitlist: If you join the Pro waitlist, we save your email address and the part of the site where you joined. We use your email address to tell you when Pro launches.
- Fragrance requests: If you ask us to add a fragrance, we save your request. If you include your email address, we use it to tell you when we add the fragrance.
- Discord giveaways: If you enter a giveaway on our Discord server, we save your Discord user ID, username, and display name to run the giveaway.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Operate and maintain our website
- Provide account-related features (favorites, price alerts, reviews, profile customization)
- Send you price alerts when a fragrance you watch drops in price or comes back in stock
- Send you weekly price drop alerts for your favorited fragrances (if enabled)

- Display helpful community reviews and ratings
- Show ads that help pay for the Site

Email Communications
We send several types of emails depending on your account settings and preferences:
- Transactional Emails: Account verification, password resets, welcome emails (always sent, cannot be disabled)
- Price Alerts: An email when a fragrance you watch drops in price or comes back in stock. Very small price drops do not send an alert. You can remove any alert at any time.
- Favorite Alerts: Weekly summary of price drops on your favorited fragrances (default: enabled, can be disabled in account settings)
- Newsletter: Weekly email featuring best deals and new fragrances (default: enabled for new accounts, can be unsubscribed at any time)
We use SendGrid to deliver all emails. You can manage your email preferences in your account settings or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We do not currently send marketing communications by text message (SMS).
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookie Consent
We use cookies and similar tools for analytics and ads. In the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland, our cookie banner asks for your permission before we load Google Analytics. Mediavine, our ad partner, asks visitors there for permission before it uses cookies for personalized ads. Everywhere else, these tools are on by default.
The "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page takes you to our opt-out button in Section 9. That button turns off Google Analytics in your browser. It does not turn off Mediavine ads. Section 9 also explains how to opt out of personalized ads and how we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following types of cookies and tracking technologies:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function properly (authentication, security, session management). These do not require consent.
- Google Analytics (GA4): Tracks how visitors use our site to help us improve user experience.
- Google Tag Manager (GTM): Manages our tracking and analytics tags.
- Our attribution cookie: Remembers how you found our site, such as the website or search engine that sent you. It lasts 30 days. We use it to see which sources bring visitors, clicks to stores, and sign-ups. If you create an account, we save this information with it.
- Advertising cookies: Mediavine and its ad partners use cookies and similar browser storage to show ads, measure results, and prevent fraud. See "Advertising" in Section 4.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no industry-standard way to interpret DNT signals, so we do not currently respond to them. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as described above and in Section 9.
4. Third-Party Services
Analytics and Tag Management
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) to understand how people use the Site. Google Analytics sets cookies that give your browser a random ID, and Google gives us reports about visits. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising
We work with Mediavine to show ads on the Site. When you visit our pages, Mediavine and its ad partners, including Google, collect information from your browser. This includes your IP address, device type, browser, and the pages you view on our Site. They use cookies and similar tools to choose ads, measure results, and prevent fraud. Ad partners can combine this information with what they collect on other websites to show you ads based on your interests. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.

Cloudflare
We use Cloudflare as our Content Delivery Network (CDN), proxy, and security service. Cloudflare processes your IP address to provide:
- DDoS protection and security features
- Faster content delivery through global CDN
- Bot protection and rate limiting
Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts visits and measures how fast our pages load. It does not use cookies.

Email Service Provider
We use SendGrid to deliver all transactional and marketing emails. SendGrid processes your email address to send verification emails, password resets, price alerts, favorite alerts, and newsletters. We have disabled click tracking in our emails to protect your privacy. SendGrid's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
Bot Protection
We use Google reCAPTCHA v2 on our registration form to prevent spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis. Google's reCAPTCHA privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Preferred Sources Button
Our footer and guide pages show a Google button that lets you add our site as a preferred source in Google Search. Google loads this button, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Browser Notifications
Your browser maker runs the service that delivers browser notifications. For example, Google delivers them in Chrome, and Apple delivers them in Safari.
Affiliate Partners
Our website contains affiliate links to third-party retailers. When you click these links, you may be redirected to partner websites that have their own privacy policies. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites.
Links to Jomashop go through Sovrn, an affiliate network, before they reach Jomashop. When you click one, Sovrn receives your IP address, your browser details, and the page you clicked from. Sovrn sets cookies to record the click so that we can earn a commission. Sovrn also uses this information to detect fraud and for advertising. You can turn off Sovrn's tracking in Sovrn's Privacy Center.
How and Why We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described in this Policy: (a) with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf to operate the Site; (b) with Mediavine, its ad partners, and Sovrn, as described in Sections 3, 4, and 9; (c) to comply with the law, a legal process, or a lawful government request, or to protect our rights, safety, and property or those of others; and (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy or notify you of any material change.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Specific retention periods include:
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your favorites, price alerts, browser notification signups, Pro waitlist signup, and newsletter subscription. We keep our records of sent alerts, store clicks, and fragrance requests, but we remove your email address and account from them.
- Browser Notifications: Kept until you delete your account or your browser stops accepting our notifications. If you block notifications for our site, we delete the signup the next time we try to send one.
- Pro Waitlist: Kept until you delete your account or ask us to remove you.
- Email-Only Newsletter Subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe. Inactive subscriptions (90+ days with no emails opened) may be removed.
- Email Verification Tokens: Expire after 24 hours.
- Password Reset Tokens: Expire after 1 hour.
- Reviews: Retained indefinitely unless you delete them or delete your account. Reviews are anonymized (author shown as "Former User") if you delete your account.
- Price History Data: Retained indefinitely for historical price charts and trend analysis.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction, including hashing passwords and serving the Site over encrypted connections (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA").
Categories of Personal Information We Collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes described in Sections 1 and 2:
- Identifiers: IP address, email address, display name, account user ID, cookie IDs, browser notification addresses, and Discord user ID.
- Internet or other network activity: pages viewed, links clicked (including clicks out to retailer websites), browser and device information, and referring website.
- Commercial information: saved fragrances (favorites), price alerts, fragrance requests, Pro waitlist sign-ups, and reviews and ratings you submit.
- Inferences: fragrance interests derived from activity on our site (for example, popularity rankings).
- Sensitive personal information: your account log-in credentials (email address in combination with a password). We use these only to create, secure, and authenticate your account.
We collect this information directly from you (account registration, alerts, reviews) and automatically (cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 3). The only category of sensitive personal information we collect is your account log-in credentials, which we use solely to authenticate and secure your account (a purpose for which the CCPA's right to limit does not apply), and which we do not sell, share, or use to infer characteristics about you. Consistent with our Children's Privacy policy (Section 8), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the under-16 threshold below applies specifically to the sale or sharing of a minor's personal information.
"Sale" or "Sharing" of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the CCPA defines "sale" and "sharing" broadly. They include letting ad companies collect data on our Site to show you ads based on your activity across other websites. Mediavine's ad partners collect identifiers, such as your IP address and cookie IDs. They also collect internet activity, such as the pages you view on our Site. Sovrn collects similar information when you click a link to Jomashop. This counts as "sharing" under the CCPA, and it may also count as a "sale." You can opt out as described below. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16.
Your Rights
- Right to know/access: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to delete: request deletion of your personal information. You can also delete your account directly from your account settings at any time.
- Right to correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information. Account holders can edit their own profile details directly.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: see "How to Opt Out" below.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: the only sensitive personal information we collect is your account log-in credentials, which we use only to authenticate and secure your account. Because we do not use or disclose them for any other purpose, this right does not apply.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to Opt Out of "Sale" or "Sharing"
You can opt out in these ways:
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): Turn on GPC in your browser or with a browser extension. Mediavine's ad code treats the signal as an opt-out of sale and sharing. We also stop loading Google Analytics, unless you clicked "Accept All" in our cookie banner. GPC is the only choice that covers both.
- Our opt-out button: The button below turns off Google Analytics in this browser, starting on your next page view. It does not turn off Mediavine ads. The "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page brings you here.
- Ad industry tools: Many ad companies honor the opt-out tools from the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance. These tools work in the browser where you use them.
- Sovrn: To stop Sovrn from tracking your clicks on Jomashop links, use "Disable Tracking" in Sovrn's Privacy Center.
Because the opt-out is stored in your browser, you will need to opt out again if you clear your browser data or use a different browser or device.
How to Exercise Your Other Rights
To exercise your rights to know, delete, or correct, email us at contact@bestfragranceprices.com. We will verify your request using the email address associated with your information and respond within 45 days. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we will require proof of the agent's authorization.

Automated Decision-Making
We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing.
