Carolina Herrera has never sold a perfume called Bad Girl. If you are trying to work out the difference between Good Girl and Bad Girl perfume, the short answer is that only one of those exists as a Herrera fragrance. Carolina Herrera Good Girl is real, launched in 2016 in the stiletto heel bottle. The thing people usually mean by "Bad Girl" is one of three others: Bad Boy EDT, the men's counterpart Herrera released in 2019; Good Girl Gone Bad by Kilian, a 2012 niche fragrance from an entirely different house; or a budget bottle actually named Bad Girl, sold by labels like Fragrance World, which is a cheap copy of Good Girl. Those three smell nothing like each other.
The price gap across those three runs from under ten dollars to well past two hundred, so it is worth knowing which bottle is in front of you.
Good Girl and Bad Boy: the pair Carolina Herrera actually sells
This is the pairing people mean when they search for "good girl and bad boy perfume." Herrera built Bad Boy as the masculine answer to Good Girl, with the same perfumers, Louise Turner and Quentin Bisch, on both. A stiletto heel bottle for one, a lightning bolt for the other.
Good Girl opens on bitter almond and roasted coffee, moves into a big tuberose and jasmine sambac heart, and settles on tonka bean, cacao and praline. It is sweet, dense and unmistakably loud. Expect eight hours or more on skin and a trail that fills a room, which is why it reads better after dark and in cooler months than at a desk in July. It is also genuinely polarizing: tuberose divides people, and the almond and coffee opening pushes it further.
Bad Boy EDT is spicier and much drier. Bergamot with pink and white pepper up top, clary sage and cedar through the middle, then cacao and tonka bean at the base. That cacao and tonka base is the actual family resemblance between the two: Bad Boy is the same sweet-dark landing pad under a peppery, woody build instead of a floral one. It wears well in daylight, suits an office far better than Good Girl, and lasts six to eight hours. If you like spicy fragrances with a cocoa finish, it is one of the better designer options at its price, and our guide to gourmand fragrances explains where that style comes from.
Practical split: Good Girl for evenings and cold weather if you want to be noticed, Bad Boy for daytime and work. Neither is strictly gendered in how it smells, and plenty of women wear Bad Boy for that peppery cocoa dry-down.
Good Girl versus Kilian's Good Girl Gone Bad
Good Girl Gone Bad came out in 2012, four years before Herrera's Good Girl, composed by Alberto Morillas for the niche house Kilian. The names rhyme. The fragrances do not overlap.
Kilian's version is a fruity floral: osmanthus and peach with neroli and bergamot at the start, a heart of Indian tuberose, jasmine, narcissus and May rose, then a quiet woody amber base of cedar, sandalwood and vetiver. There is no coffee, no almond, no praline, nothing gourmand about it. The only note the two share is tuberose, and Kilian keeps it transparent and apricot-skinned where Herrera makes it creamy and thick. It also costs several times more per milliliter. We do not stock it, so there is no price card for it below. If someone recommends it because you liked Good Girl, be skeptical.
The "Bad Girl" bottles sold online are Good Girl copies
Search a marketplace for "Carolina Herrera Bad Girl" and you will get results, but read the brand line. Bottles named Bad Girl come from budget houses, Fragrance World most often, and they are built as copies of Good Girl. Their listed pyramids mirror it almost note for note: almond and coffee, tuberose and jasmine, tonka and cacao.
They do smell close for the first twenty minutes. After that, where Good Girl holds its shape for most of a day, these fade to a faint sweetness in four to six hours, and the tuberose goes thin and slightly plasticky. As a cheap way to test whether the accord suits you, one is a reasonable buy. As a long-term replacement, it is not the same bottle. Our explainer on clone fragrances and whether dupes are worth buying covers how close these copies really get.
So, to answer the question behind "are good girl and bad girl perfume the same brand": no. Good Girl is Carolina Herrera. Bad Girl is not.
The rest of the Good Girl and Bad Boy family, briefly
Herrera has kept both lines growing, and the flankers are where most real decisions happen now.
- Good Girl Blush (2023) trades the coffee for bergamot and keeps a bitter almond edge, then goes creamy with peony, ylang ylang, vanilla and coumarin. It is the daytime-friendly one, softer and much easier to wear in warm weather.
- Very Good Girl (2021) is the odd one out: lychee and red currant over rose, with vanilla and vetiver underneath. Red and fruity rather than gourmand, and closer to a modern rose than to the original.
- Very Good Girl Elixir (2024) is the darkest and sweetest of them, built on black cherry and bitter almond with rose and tuberose, finishing on vanilla and cocoa. Evening only, and heavy in the heat.
- On the men's side, Bad Boy Cobalt Electrique and Bad Boy Cobalt Absolute take the line into blue, lavender-forward territory. Absolute is the deeper and woodier of the two, with truffle and oud over oak and vetiver.

Which one should you buy?
Buy the original Good Girl EDP first. It is the reference point for every other bottle here, copies included, and you need to smell it before you can judge the rest. If it is too much for you, try Good Girl Blush next: it keeps the almond and loses most of the weight.
For men, start with Bad Boy EDT rather than a Cobalt. The EDT carries the cacao and tonka signature that made the line, while the Cobalt releases are a separate blue-fragrance idea sharing the bottle shape.
Either way, do not pay the department store counter price. These are widely distributed designer fragrances, so the online discounters almost always carry them well under list. Sort the price cards below by total delivered cost, and set a price alert on the bottle you want.
Frequently asked questions
Are Good Girl and Bad Girl perfume the same brand?
No. Good Girl is Carolina Herrera. Bottles sold as Bad Girl come from budget labels such as Fragrance World and are copies of Good Girl, not Herrera products.
Does Carolina Herrera make a Bad Girl perfume?
No. Herrera's counterpart to Good Girl is Bad Boy, launched in 2019 and sold as a men's fragrance.
Is Kilian's Good Girl Gone Bad the same as Good Girl?
No. Good Girl Gone Bad is a 2012 fruity floral from the niche house Kilian, built on osmanthus, peach and tuberose. It shares a word with Herrera's Good Girl and nothing else.
Is a Bad Girl perfume dupe worth buying?
As a cheap way to test the almond and tuberose accord, yes. As a replacement for Good Girl, no: expect four to six hours instead of a full day, and a thinner finish.
Which is better, Good Girl or Bad Boy?
Good Girl projects harder and lasts longer, so it wins on presence. Bad Boy is more wearable in daylight and at work. For compliments at night, take Good Girl. For something you can wear every day, take Bad Boy.
