Club de Nuit is not one fragrance with five flankers. It is six separate scents that happen to share a name, a bottle shape, and a house, and each one points at something different. That is what most advice about the line gets wrong. People assume the versions are tiers of the same smell, order the wrong bottle, and conclude that Armaf is overrated.
Armaf is a UAE brand produced by Sterling Parfums, and its reputation rests almost entirely on one release: Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man EDT, which landed in 2015 and has sat on every budget recommendation list since. Everything else in the line came afterward, and the gaps between them are wider than the shared branding suggests. Here is what each version actually is, how close it gets to the expensive thing it echoes, and which one deserves your money first.
Start here: Club de Nuit Intense Man
If you buy one Armaf, buy this one. It opens on pineapple, blackcurrant, lemon and apple laid over a smoky birch accord, moves through jasmine and rose, and settles into musk, ambergris, patchouli and a light vanilla sweetness. The architecture is the same one Creed Aventus EDP made famous in 2010: bright fruit on top, dry smoke underneath.
The differences show up in the execution. Intense Man is louder, sweeter in the base, and the smoke reads more like burnt rubber than the polished birch in the Creed. The first ten minutes are the roughest stretch. Give it twenty and it settles into something genuinely good.
Performance is the reason people keep buying it. This is an eau de toilette that regularly runs eight to twelve hours on skin and projects hard for the first two or three. Three or four sprays is the right dose. Six will make you unpopular in a small office. It is at its best from September through March and gets syrupy in real heat.
The other five, and who each one is for
Club de Nuit Untold
Marketed toward women, wears unisex in practice. Armaf Club de Nuit Untold EDP is built on saffron, jasmine and an ambery woody base, which is the same skeleton as Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 EDP from 2015. Untold is heavier and more candied, with less of the airy, almost transparent quality that makes the original feel expensive. It is also more linear, so what you smell at thirty minutes is roughly what you get for the next six hours. Buy it to find out whether you like that saffron and amberwood profile at all before committing to the real thing.
Club de Nuit Urban Man Elixir
Armaf Club de Nuit Urban Man Elixir EDP is the sweet one. Fruit up top, warm spice through the middle, and a vanilla and amber base that pushes it toward gourmand territory without quite arriving. It is the most crowd friendly bottle in the range and the easiest to wear if Intense Man strikes you as too aggressive. Cold weather, evenings, dates. It does not belong at a desk.
Club de Nuit Milestone
The name is not subtle, and neither is the reference. Armaf Club de Nuit Milestone EDP is the house answer to Creed Millesime Imperial EDP from 1995: fresh fruit with a salty, sun on skin quality and a clean musky finish. This is the daytime bottle of the six. It is office safe, it works in spring and summer when Intense Man would be unbearable, and it is the version most likely to get you asked what you are wearing by someone who is not a fragrance person.
Club de Nuit Sillage
Armaf Club de Nuit Sillage EDP is the green, watery entry. Bright citrus and blackcurrant, a tea like heart, clean musk and light woods underneath. It sits in the same neighborhood as Creed Silver Mountain Water EDP, also from 1995, without tracking it note for note. Performance is the weakest in the line, which is normal for this style. Four to six hours, moderate projection. Good for warm weather and long meetings, wrong for anyone who bought Armaf specifically for the volume.
Club de Nuit Iconic
Armaf Club de Nuit Iconic EDP is the newest of the six and the hardest to place. It is sweeter and more polished than Intense Man and sits somewhere between the fresh members of the line and the gourmand leaning ones, but there is far less agreement about what it smells like than there is for any other bottle here. That is a reason to sample rather than blind buy. If you already own Intense Man and Urban Man Elixir, you can skip it without missing anything.
How close do they actually get?
Close enough to matter, not close enough to fool anyone paying attention. Sprayed on paper next to the Creeds, the differences are obvious: the Armafs have shorter, harsher openings, less interesting middles, and drydowns that flatten out where the originals keep developing. The raw materials cost less and it shows.
None of that is the point. Nobody is sniffing your wrist next to a reference sample. In the room, at arm's length, Intense Man reads as the same idea as Aventus, and it does so at a price that lets you spray freely instead of rationing. That trade is a good one for most people. If you want a fuller comparison of the field, our guide to the best Creed Aventus alternatives covers the competition, and our explainer on whether clone fragrances are worth buying gets into where the category makes sense and where it does not.
Batch variation is real, so buy carefully
Armaf's quality control is looser than a designer house's. Bottles from different production runs of the same fragrance can differ noticeably in strength and in how rough the opening is, and Intense Man is the worst offender because it has been in production the longest. Buy from a seller that will take a return, and check the code on the bottle against the batch it claims to be. Our guide to checking fragrance batch codes walks through how to read them.
Counterfeits also exist for this line, which is unusual for a fragrance this affordable but follows from how much of it sells. A price far below the going rate is a warning, not a deal.
Quick comparison

What to buy first
Buy Intense Man. It is the reason the line exists, it is the best value in it, and it is the only one that does something no cheaper fragrance really does, which is fill a room. Wear it starting now, through the cold months.
Buy Milestone second, because it covers the half of the year Intense Man cannot. Those two together handle almost every situation you will run into, and they cost less as a pair than a single bottle of the Creed either one is chasing.
Untold is worth adding if the saffron and amber profile appeals to you or you share fragrances at home. Urban Man Elixir earns a spot if you like your scents sweet. Sillage is pleasant and forgettable. Iconic can wait until you have smelled it.
